Cooking Method
- Heat 1 tsp oil/ghee and add black cardamom and cinnamon stick.
- Add lamb and fry for 5 minutes.
- Add coriander powder, ginger powder and red Kashmiri chilli
powder. Fry for couple of minutes and take it off the heat.
- Heat the 2 tsp oil/ghee in another pan, add sliced onions and fry for 5 minutes till light golden.
- Take them out of pan and keep aside for later.
- Add another tsp of oil to the pan, add pureed onions and fry till light brown.
- Add grated ginger & garlic, tomato puree, fry for another minute.
Add yogurt.
- Add the fried lamb and 50 ml of hot water, close the lid and cook on medium heat till lamb is tender and sauce is thick. (approx 30
minutes)
- Add the fired onion slices and sprinkle with cumin powder and garam masala, cook for couple of minutes.
- Cover the pan leave it to rest for at least 10 minutes.
- Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves if you prefer.
